Start up error

    Start up error


    Hi
    I gave my son a new Toshiba Satellite Pro L500 for Xmas with windows 7 installed
    When it is switched on windows starts to load but then an error notice appears

    An error has occurred
    Error:F3-F100-0005
    please press OK to turn off the computer.


    Does anyone have any idea yow this error can be corrected?
    All of the help etc is inaccessible on the notebook

    Since its brand new, the only fault should be factory made. Lke the guy above said, return it.

    I of course agree with the 2 above posters, but just one additonal piece of advice. Don't wait. After Christmas there are many people bringing back their gifts. Some people who bought themselves items in June, then decided that its not wanted in August, wait until the Christmas rush and say it was a gift, I do not have a receipt. Retailers are very agreeable. Act now and you will get a replacement with no problem

    It seems only Toshiba note has the error like F3-xxxxxx
    I just bought a NB200 about 10 hours ago
    So I just want redivide the disk patition,and I reload the Win7 like you
    But 1 hour past,and i receive the message: "ERROR: F3-F100-0004"
    Then I wish can find someone put the disk image on the internet
    or I can download the win7 from microsoft website,or i can use usb cdrom install a windows xp first
    but I can't
    It seems the only way is send the note to the service department

    I would say run startup repair or return it to the store where you got it from

    how to run startup repair is to boot into the windows 7 dvd i belive.

    Thats illegal, and most torrents contain viruses.
