    Random Shutdowns

I am running Win 7 (x64) and it is randomly shutting down... sometimes after a few seconds, sometime it can run for hours. This is a brand new clean install on a new desktop. I have run event viewer and i don't see anything right before the crash. I have the latest nVidia drivers and I dont think it is overheating.

what else can i check to track this down?

    thanks!

    Hello,

Can you look in the Event Viewer to see if anything happened? I am not the right person to interpret the results, but I know that's the first thing the others will ask when they get here.

    MSINFO32:
Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.

If you're having difficulties with the format, please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type "msinfo32 /nfo C:\Users\Public\Desktop\TEST.NFO" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Desktop directory to retrieve the TEST.NFO file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back.

No suggestions with the MSINFO32 log files either.
So, the most likely issue is hardware.

    Start with this:
    H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)
Try this video stress/stability test also: FurMark: Graphics Card Stability and Stress Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
