    Windows 7 Problems.

A list of some of the Problems I see ...

Windows Disc Management >> Unable to Connect to Virtual Disc Service.
Explorer >> Internet Explorer cannot connect to (any) Web page.
Windows Updates >> Service is not running.
Task Scheduler >> Remote Computer not found.
Window Security Center cannot be started.
Audio >> Hardware Changes might not have been detected.
    AVG >> No active components.

This is Not my computer and I suspect the owner has installed something that’s making it look for a remote computer .. or something ??
He was in a hurry .. and all he said was ... “He really messed it up good this time”

I have a spare HDD up and running from a previous Acronis backup ..
So I know the computer is in good shape.

Any ideas what I might try .. or look for .. Before I wipe this HDD and reinstall W7 ??

OK .. He brought me everything but the W7 install DVD ...
(I knew I should have kept a copy)

Much of the data and programs are in German ... I'm still 98% German .. But I have no clue what I'm looking at.
(At least he flew for US and not the Luftwaffe)

I do see a Nero Scout showing up as another partition in My Computer ?? .. Whatever that is ??

Going to be busy today .. I'll get to this later

Start up repair is still actually in the partition/HD
Make it error on start up (power off at the back of the pc,power on,let it load a few seconds then power off again via the switch)
This works on mine,it tells me windows failed to load, would i like to run start up repair,it then leads me to the same repair console as the Win7 disc.
    This might work for you.

Have you been able to try sytem restore?im 90% percent sure it says system restore in english even with a different language installed,so you can just search for it.

    The latest news ...
This problem happened when he tied to install a German grammar language support program...
Korrektor Plus .. All was going well until he tried to install the Program Updates.

Just Tried System Restore .. To see if I could backup to a previous point.
    System restore is also non-functional.

I think W7 is too far gone to mess with ... Acronis to the rescue.
    Many Thanks for the tips.
