how many passes did you do with memtest ?

what are the exact symptoms of the freezes and can you reproduce them ?

are there any warnings in performance information and tools\advanced ?

i cant rlly reproduce them, tho if i go in firefox or avant browser it happens faster but can still take 1 min an hour or maybe it wont even crash.

The thing is before it crash lets say i am listening music and playing a game:

in game i see the screen freeze for very small time not even a sec but its noticable, the sound "freezes" too from time to time becouse it looks then like it skips a very small part.

then right before freeze i hear like a sec of sound repeating 1000000 times and rlly fast and then like 5sec after that pc totally freezes or just reboots.

as far as i can see in performance information and tools\advanced it gives me no warnings errors or suggestions. So that doesn't detect anything.

with the memtest thingy, i did let the windows one run for about 5 - 6 hours nothing found,
also did that memtest not from windows(the one you have to do with bootdisk),i did let that run for a while too, also no errors.

    kind regards,
    Tom

Sounds like that drive is getting ready to fail... Time to make sure that all your data is backed up and replace that drive... Good luck!

If your drive is making unexpected noises, you can almost be sure that its on its way out... Diagnostic programs are fine, but do not catch everything... Good luck with your problem...

I've been experiencing that sound issue with my audio card : Asus Xonar DS. A solid 60$ audio card that can play eax 5.0 and as good as creative cards of the double price.

I think it is more related to windows 7 x64 itselfs.

I dont know much about this bug, but for me it's just a little inconvenience, I usually restart windows if this happen while I'm in game. (1 time a week maybe...)

A thing I have learned fast since I'm on this forum, windows 7x64 has many software issues related.

Remember the firsts version's of windowx xp...nothing was really stable, took at least 2 years for XP to become stable and reliable !

Hopefull windows 7 will become the same ! (contrary to vista...)

this latest problem could be soundcard and drivers issue, I suggest disable or remove the soundcard for a day and see if that cures the problem ?
