Hi Kolten, Welcome to SF,
We need more information to fix this problem. First we have to check whether we have any Errors in Event viewer to find it
Start > Type Event viewer > Windows Log > Application
Check whether you see any errors if you find any please post the descriptions
Was this an Upgrade or a Clean install
Next step is to make sure you have all your Drivers up to date like Graphics drivers, Sound drivers
Please let us know
Captain
Ok it was a clean install (OEM)
and heres my errors:
Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\nTune\MFC80.DLL". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",v ersion="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.
I have 4 of those right at the same time :/
The description for Event ID 1 from source swg cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
There was an error in s. File s

5 of those right after each other.
One of these:
The program javaw.exe version 6.0.170.4 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

And thats it so now that i look is the nvidia issue? graphics drivers or something?
And on the driver topic yes i installed everything i had, but the problem is some of it wouldn't work with windows 7 like some of my graphics and even mother board drivers just stuff isn't comparable yet.
Maybe if you know of any software that detects them and will install them would be best or tell me what to do. :s never had this problem with xp because my cd's worked..
The best option would to remove the Nvidia drivers completely
There is a great article that explains the process
Info: nVidia Driver Cleaning Guide - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net
Because sometimes removing from Program features won't do the trick that's why after that we are running nVidia - Nasty File Remover to make sure everything is out completely. Then download drivers from Nvidia website NOT from Windows Update
Hope this helps
ok, but dont i need the drivers for my graphics card?
I also can't find new drivers for my geforce 8600 GT on the page provided in that post
As far as my knowledge Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT need drivers. Look this page from Nvidia Website NVIDIA DRIVERS 195.62 WHQL This should work for your card. But make sure you remove you driver that came with you OS using the link i suggested.
Hope this helps
Ok, i will try that if this doesn't work see i had installed from my disc that i got from Nvidia for my gfx card a peace of software called Ntune well every time i tried opening it it BSOD me.. i thought nothing of it well i uninstalled it and so far no problems usually my system will freeze over night or when im using it constantly so i plan to play on it for about 3-4 more hours and then leave it on tonight lets hope for best!!!
