    Random BSODs while gaming


    So this has been happening to me a lot lately. I have no clue why. I game all the time on my computer, but as of recently I have been experiencing tons of BSODs. They are always completely random. It can happen in any game, even emulated sega games.

    I haven't recently installed any new hardware whatsoever. Nothing. I used to have my graphics card overclocked, but I changed back the settings to see if that was the problem, and it still happens. I have updated my graphics drivers to the latest also.

    My system specs are below.

    Crash dump is in zip. I'm at a loss on this one.

    Ok well for the first time while playing a game a couple minutes ago, instead of a BSOD, the computer just restarted itself.

    My first guess would be a heat problem. Did you check the temps? You can use Core Temp ( Core Temp ). It minimizes to the task tray (notification area). That way you can watch the temps all the time.

    Both cores are running at about 60C under load of about 80%

    Pretty high. I'm going to apply some new thermal paste. I have some artic 5 sitting around (if I can find it)

    Unfortunately this is gonna be difficult because you're still using the Release Candidate. There aren't any symbols for the debugger to work with.

    Please do this in order to give us more info:
    MSINFO32:
    Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.

    If you're having difficulties with the format, please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type "msinfo32 /nfo C:\Users\Public\Desktop\TEST.NFO" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Desktop directory to retrieve the TEST.NFO file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back.
    The dump file blames amdk8.sys - a processor driver. It's unlike that this would be the cause.

    Next, Please update or remove these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager. Please use the following instructions to locate the most current drivers:
    How To Find Updated Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

    Heres the requested file. Will do what you said now.

    EDIT: Finding drivers for those seems to be, well...impossible

    Max Temps of the 6000+ are 55-63.

    AMD Processors for Desktops: AMD Phenom?, AMD Athlon? FX, AMD Athlon? X2 Dual-Core, AMD Athlon?, and AMD Sempron? Processor

    I would say ideal you'd want to see 55Cish or so under a load (gaming)

    May just need to get some better airflow going to it

    I don't think its an airflow problem. My case has great airflow. I can't seem to find my thermal paste though.....

    This really sucks until I fix this. My computer is used mainly for gaming, and its impossible as of right now because of the BSODs I get while doing so.
