Here is an interesting problem I have

I have the Windows 7 7100 build that worked fine for the first few months I had it, however, I live in South Africa and the humidity always causes a heat problem for my PC (Hench the air cooler I own).

About 2 months ago, my PC BSOD me and immediately shut down. I started it up and checked the BIOS to find that my PC was running a bit hot and I left it at that, but the BSOD happened evey once in a while after that.

Then the hard-drive fails started, where the system was not picking up a SATA device connected to the mother board. After a bit of tweaking with the wires I managed to get it reading again.

Then Windows 7 would not boot, so I loaded the Win 7 disc and attempted a system repair which discovered a boot file was missing. Which Windows happily replaced. But the problem was persistent, and eventually my windows disc wasn't even discoverring the problem.

Long story short, my PC ONLY boots into Safe Mode regardless of the setting I choose.

    Can anyone help?

Motherboard is working fine, I've been testing that. I have narrowed it down to 2 possible hardware errors and that lies in the harddrive itself or in the PSU...

Have you tried to run hard drive diagnostics?
If you have a seagate drive. SeaTools is amazing :)

My first suggestion would be to upgrade your version of Windows as the one you are using is set to expire in march... If you can navigate to c:/windows/minidump and zip up your .dmp file and attach it to your next post, we can take a look at it to see what the problem is...

Sea tools still works with WD just some features are turned off...
You can still run basic diagnostics.
