    Startup repair scan loop issue...

Hi all, newbie here.. Got a new laptop only 1 week ago and this morning all hell broke loose Had absolutely no complaints with it till today.. Turned it on and it started a startup repair scan. Said unable to fix problems or something and when I tried to exit it just kept doing another scan.. tried to do a system restore twice and got error 0x8000ffff. Called help line (Im not a pc master fixer) and it would not even start in safe mode--just kept starting up and doing the stupid scan again. Needless to say I had to do a complete recovery to factory settings. So it is working again now.. but my question is why did this happen and what can I do to keep it from happening again? Should I just take this laptop back and get a new one or will this happen with a new one as well... This is my laptop..

Ok well after scouring the internet for answers I am still coming up empty handed... I have read all the posts on this forum pertaining to anything similar to this, but as my laptop had windows 7 home premium installed already with no CD I am still at a loss.. I have 90 days to return and I am thinking I will give it a bit and if it happens again I will return it. I didn't buy a brand new pc to have to deal with these problems a week later... BUT if I return it should I exchange it for another one same model and assume I just got a lemon or go with a total different laptop?? I want to know how to keep this from happening again... ANYONE???
PLEASE someone who has computer knowledge let me know what you would do in this instance!!! My husband is no help.. On one hand I am scared this will happen again 2 days after my 90 days are up for a return, but getting a new one (any model) I am afraid I will be dealing with the same situation

if u dont have an original restore cd , you need to do a backup. Also will be great to create an image cd or DVD and put aside just in case. all laptops came with just one hardrive , with small particion hide. for recover.but once you running it you lose all data, so if you get a extra external hardrive or another device for backup ( today you can get a USB flash memory with 16 gb for arround $ 24 to $30 .and it is very usefull. just in case. if you every week save your data safe. Running your own backup program ponit to external drive is better.
