    BSOD - Memory Management

Hey guys, im a bit new to this, but i have read how to post about a BSOD to make things easy

I recently bulit a new computer and i have had a variety of issues, most of which i have fixed (by reading posts on this site :) ) however these ones i just cant fix....

they are mainly memory management issues that i get when using Firefox, however i attached all the BSOD things just incase there are some more hints in there

I have ran Memtest on all the sticks, with 3 passes and no erros, but i will run it again over night for at least 7 just incase.

Any help would be greatly appriciated as i realy would like to get to the bottom of this..... if there is anything i can do to help aswell let me know

    Thanks so much in advance,

    Pete

Since lot of people helped me already, I can provide some help too I guess.

MY cpu had BSOD for 7 consecutive days, sometimes 2 a day.

I removed Nvidia driver 195.62. The BSOD stopped and my system has been running for around 56 hours non stop. Most stable moment since my new install. Hope it will last.

After reviewing nvidia forum about windows 7 x64 and drivers 19x.xx I found that they are not really stable with windows 7 x64. I reverted to 190.38 and I enjoy stability. I saw that they caused lot of failure for vista user also. x32/x64

    Hope this can help !

Went back to the old drivers, the 190.38 as suggested, and when i was checking that they went back to 190.38, i came accross this,

    Total GPU Memory = 4GB
    Dedicated video Memory = 1GB
    System Video memory = 0Mb
    Shared system Memory = 3071Mb,

I have duall 8800GTs, and they only have 1GB memory each??? could this be a contributing factor to all the BSOD??? and is there any way to change those above numbers???? so that there is no Shared system memory?

So far systems stabilty is going well, only had one BSOD with the graphics, which im guessing was caused by running X-fire and steam simultaneously...... i have heard that it does cause errors, but i have never had a problem running them both....

Found and update to my BIOS, had a few CPU frequency and RAM timing isuese but they are back to how they were.

I have tried to crash the system in the same way it usually does, but it hasnt crashed yet usualy after firefox crashes, it gets worse from there...

    ill post with the results

OK, due to a few of the errors, I'd first suggest these hardware diagnostics:
    H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)
Also, please try this free stress test for your video card: FurMark: Graphics Card Stability and Stress Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net

Most of the errors seem to point to your video card - but two do point to the file system on the hard drive. So, please try this also:
    CHKDSK /R:
Run CHKDSK /R from an elevated (Run as adminstrator) Command Prompt.
When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter. Then reboot and let the test run. It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors. See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.

    Elevated Command Prompt:
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of the Search Box, right click on Cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"

    CHKDSK LogFile:
Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.
Double click on the Source column header.
Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).
Copy/paste the results into your next post.
Also, Please update or remove these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager. Please use the following instructions to locate the most current drivers:
    How To Find Updated Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - some driver links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html

    Here's the older drivers:
    Code:
    AODDriver.sys Mon Oct 13 00:38:55 2008 - AMD Overdrive (http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_overdrive.aspx) It's also a component of EasyTune6 for your Gigabyte motherboard (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Utility_DownloadFile.aspx?FileType=Utility&FileID=86)
GVTDrv64.sys Tue Sep 05 03:10:02 2006- I cannot locate this driver, please search your hard drive for it, zip it up, and upload the driver with your next post.
    Here's a summary of the BSOD's:

I think removing the nvidia drivers was not enough for me, it did stabilize my system a lot, but since then I experienced 4 BSOD in 7 days still...on thoses 4, two happenned today !!

So I'm still pretty sure removing nvidia drivers is the first thing to do to eleminate an evident possible cause. :)

BTW : I've read on nvidia forum that the 190.62 is also a really stable version with windows 7 x64. You might give a try to that one too I guess.

Hi USAMSA, i ran the memory diagnostic for 3.5 passes with no errors, i was unable to get the HDD things to boot, sorry about that, ill try get it working i have ran a SFC succesfully with no errors if that helps? I will run the chkdsk shortly after this.

when i went to update the nvidia drivers, i instantly got a memory management BSOD, i restarted and then re-installed

this is the interesting part tho, i think you might have it with the video card, i ran the stress test in SLI and i got a flashing purple thing that definately didnt look like the images in google, then i disabled SLI, and the benchmark ran well with an image that looked exactly like the ones in google. i have attached photos for you.

also i thought this might be interesting, my 8800GT's are DX10 capable, however, i am running windows 7 and it says my direct x is version 11, but when i play TF2, it only allows me to use DX9, and it says my hardware and software level are only DX9?? could this also point to a faulty/problamatic GPU? Would this be leading towards a hardware issue on the Graphics card or software??
If it makes life easier for you in providing a solution i do plan on upgrading the graphics cards in the the near future

I found the "GVTrv64.sys" driver and updated the gigabyte et6, which also gave me an error when installing, so uninstalled the old one and then installed the latest version

again you have been amazingly helpfull, and thank you so much for helping me
