BSOD and can't connect to wireless network

just got a vaio with windows7 and can't connect to my home network. i can connect to other networks as i've tried at other locations (coffee shops). i checked the manufacturers website to see if my router is compatible (d link wbr 2310) and it says it already is compatible. another forum suggested disabling ms virtual miniport adapter, which i tried, and that solution does not work. both miniport adapter and atheros adapter are updated with most current version.

on top of this, i got a load of BSOD with "driver irql less than..." messages and took the machine back to where i got it for repair. they said they fixed it but i've gotten this one more time.

aem on the network forum suggest i repost here as he thinks i may have "a driver compatibility issue" that is related to both my connectivity and BSOD issue.

I still don't understand why i can connect to other networks, just not my own.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

    David

Try searching for *,DMP. It is also sometimes located in c:\windows and called memory.dmp on 64bit machines.

May also be possible that one was not generated.
