Sometimes won't resume from Sleep
Hello all,
I'm dumbfounded on this one. Here's what I know...
I have Win7 Home Premium, and am using it on a Media Center PC. When I put the PC to sleep, sometimes it will wake up properly, sometimes it won't. When it does not wake up from sleep...I have to manually press the power button on the computer for it to turn on (as if the computer "shut down" rather then sleep), and during boot I receive the "windows did not shut down properly" screen with the 30 second count down to select if I want to start up normally, or try safe modes. This is KILLING my recordings and driving me insane.
It seems to be that it happens mostly when I leave the PC sit overnight and I do NOT try to check on it in the morning. In other words, use the PC at night, put it into sleep mode before I go to bed between 10pm and 11pm central, and leave it alone until it is supposed to wake up on it's own to record usually around 7pm or 8pm central. So it's in sleep for around 20-22 hours.
If I put it to sleep at night around 11pm central, and in the morning before I go to work I wake it up myself around 8am central, it wakes up. I then put it to sleep & go to work around 9am central, and come home and it's recording what it should between 7pm or 8pm central.
So there definitely seems to be a timing issue, but what? It sits too long and crashes while in sleep mode??? Why? If I leave the computer running all day, it works fine, and does not crash.
Interestingly enough, I also run another computer with Win7 Home Premium, and it does NOT crash at all when it's in sleep mode. That computer uses completely different hardware other then the Keyboard & Mouse setup.
Does anyone have any ideas? And before you ask, I have the newest drivers on all items (at least that I know of) and I even tried to reinstall Win7 to get rid of this situation. That didn't work...
