Windows 7: BSOD error Blue Screen Please Help

04 Feb 2010   #11

Win7 Ultimate X64

Ok so memory has checked out then we may need to go a different way, have a look here for some info on this type of error BSOD Index

I think the next step would be to try some updating, i would check the bios date/version and update if necessary then move onto drivers, all the drivers listed below predate the windows installation files so i would look into updating them especially graphics drivers

Windows 7 x64

I had just started downloading the newest graphic drivers from nvidia hehehehe

we'll see if that helps...
I'm doing a clean format and reinstall of the operative system since I found some other driver updates and made kind of a mess before with many different driver versions and all and that may have been messing things up.

So when I'm done reinstalling and downloading this nvidia drivers I'll let you know if the BSOD still appears and if the Media Buttons are still malfunctioning.

Thanks a bunch!!!

Windows 7 x64

Ok.... guys after the clean install I got another different BSOD....
I am attacing the minidump file i hope you can help me out.... is not the same error as before....
thank you very much...

(sorry I created another post by mistake with this new minidump file, please admins you can delete it)

Well here's the new minidump....

PS: Now everytime I start windows, when the Windows logo dissapears and it's about to show the desktop and everything, the screen flickers showing some weird white and black lines in the screen for one second, and then the desktop appears....

Maybe the error has to do with a video card issue?

Thanks again!

If the BSOD's continue after a clean installation - it's most often a sign of a hardware problem.

Most often BSOD issues are solved by the original poster - all we do is offer alternatives. In this case you mention the video card due to some issues you've seen.

So, try this free video stress test to see what it does: FurMark: Graphics Card Stability and Stress Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
If it doesn't do anything, then try this free stress test: Free Software - GIMPS

Also, please remove these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager.
Please use the following instructions to locate the most currently available drivers to replace the one's that you uninstall/remove:
How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- some driver links are on this page:

Here's the older drivers. Please pay particular attention to any dated 2007 or earlier:
athrx.sys Sun Apr 27 14:09:16 2008 - Atheros network adapter driver
nvsmu.sys Mon Aug 25 06:22:45 2008 - NVIDIA nForce System Management Controller driver
nvstor64.sys Mon Aug 18 21:53:39 2008 - nVidia Storage drivers
Here's a summary of the BSOD:
