    Pc shuts down suddenly

This problem started a week ago.

When the pc shut down i can`t turn it on right away (nothing happens), so i have to unplug the power cord for about 10 secs to turn it back

i thought the problem was processor overheated, so i bought termal paste, now temps are good, arround 39C IDLE and 55 under heavy load.

so, i don`t know why my pc keep shutting down suddenly.

(i have pc specs in my sing, if you do need any other info just let me know)

i really appreciate your help, i`ll be waiting your answer, thank you.

I experienced something similar a few years back on an older rig, it turned out to be the PSU was dying might well be the same thing on your system.

No testing software that I know of for PSU's - although programs like CPU-z and SpeedFan can tell you abit about it.

Please do the following to see if we can get any info:
    Upload Dump Files:
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service (not RapidShare as the analysts usually can't download from it) - then post the link to it.
Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file): Set MiniDump

First crash was probably caused by tcpip.sys and the second your video driver.

    i would

dl a fresh video driver and install it
    reinstall you network driver
    run a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scanno
    Update the drivers listed below

The only 'real' way to test a PSU is with a multimeter.

However you can monitor it via software which is read straight from the BIOS sensors. It will give you a fair indication of what's going on.

Download HWMonitor and check the voltages:

    CPUID

Pay attention to the 12v and 3.3v

A PSU can go at any time regardless of brand, age, quality etc.

i don`t know if i`m right but those minidump files seems to be dated 14/08/09

this problem started just a month ago.

Here its the screenshot of CPU-Z

12V seems to be low, i`m right?

    please give your diagnostic

    Thank you.
