My PC freezes completely when installing new programs

    Hi guys.

3 days ago my PC starts making more noise than normal.

After that it freezes completely when installing programs and sometimes when surfing in the net.
Even during Steam updates it crashes.

I tought it could be an hardware failure. I have run Windows memory Diagnostic tool, scandisk..
etc and everything seems to be fine. My hd temperature according to hard disk sentinel is around 26ª C.

Also i can play games and run perfect in safe mode so i have my doubts that i could be hardware related.
I dont have any slowdowns in my pc.

I also tried a system restore without success.I didnt find any malware.

I try to run sfc /scannow but it says that the "Windows Resource Protection cant start the repair service.
If i insert the windows disk and run it at starup it says "other repair task is pending or something like that.

    Any suggestions?

It looks like i will have to format the pc.

PS: I forget to say that most of time my PC doesnt turn off. In keeps saying logging off but nothing happens.

If your computer never shutsdown that is a problem. The problem will continue on the next time you startup.
If your computer hasn't repaired itself and the hanging like you said I guess a clean install is in order.

    Let us know.

Also i notice that the freeze happens when trying to create a system restore point or running windows update.
I think the format is the best option.

I have a couple of beta software installed and a couple of programs which i am having trouble to unnistall (missing files etc) so a format will be good.

If all else fail a clean install is the best option :)

Just to add that today i was playing a video at youtube and seeing other sites at the same time. My PC crashes but i still heared the sound of the video. My Firefox was open in other tab so i couldn´t see if the video was really playing.

It should be some kind of problem with explorer.exe maybe? Graphic card? (but then i should´t be able to play games). This is really strange.

Anyway, unless someone has a brilliant idea i will format my PC next week and see what happens.

I will try to update all my drivers tomorrow. Fortunatly drivermax seems to work.
