Startup Error

Hi There, i have a little problem, and i dont really know how to fix it.

Everytime that i start my PC, i get this error:

RunDLL

There was a problem starting winalq32.rom

The specified file module could not be found.

When I just Googled that file name, there was only one return...pointing to this thread. That makes it appear that the file is not a Windows file, nor one of a popular program, otherwise the returns would have been much longer.

This could have come from a program that you chose to install, but it could also have come from some kind of malware. I would start by running Malwarebytes and an AV scan, if those came up clean, I would go to msconfig and do a selective startup, disabling everything on the Startup tab. Reboot and see if the problem disappears, if so, reenable the startup items one at a time, rebooting each time, until the problem reappears. When it does, then you know where the problem lies and can decide how to deal with it.

If the problem never disappears, the only other thing that I can think of is that it is a driver doing the deed, but tracking that down is a little more complicated.

EDIT: You might be able to shorcut this procedure by doing a search for the file. If found, it's location or looking at it properties might suggest it's origin.

Download Autoruns and untick the option to start this in the Logon tab.

Are you a ham radio enthusiast?

Open the startup tab in Msconfig and look for an item relating to ham radio. Untick it and the problem should go away.

I downloaded Autoruns, searched for winalq32.rom, and i get it, i unticked it and rebooted the PC, it did not appeard, THANK YOU THANK YOUUU....
