    Fried my MBR

    Hey there,

I know exactly what I did wrong here, so maybe this'll be a slightly easier problem to fix.

I got the bright idea of installing a flavour of Ubuntu on an SDHC card, thinking that I can have my netbook either boot from the hard drive or boot from the SDHC slot. Thinking that I would need GRUB on the hard drive, I put it there.

Slight problem: GRUB can't read the SDHC card by itself - I'm guessing that a driver is essential to the slot's function. Therefore, GRUB sends me an error and goes to a grub-recovery console, which I have no idea how to use.

What I need to do is boot up to Win7's recovery console and fix the MBR - I want to restore it to a Windows-only machine.

What commands will I need to create a new MBR and restore my boot sequence?

    Hey,

Thanks for both your inputs. The guide the Captain sent me is exactly what I was looking for - I just didn't know there was a MBR guide on here.
