No display when booting on battery

If I try to start my laptop using battery power I get nothing but a black screen after the Win7 logo shows up. If I'm plugged in my laptop boots up and loads windows just fine. I'd appreciate any help I can get with this.

Not quite the same problem but maybe related somehow. If I unplug my power cord after I get up and running everything works OK.

what does it say in event viewer (type eventvwr in search) go to the windows logs>alppication tab. You are looking for a critical error (they have red in the laft hand column) that relates to the problem. when you find them note the event ID and source code and tell us.

    No critical errors.

Just for grins I was going to see what happens when I start on battery and plug in after I get the black screen. Strangely enough I didn't get the black screen. It loaded windows just fine. Now I'm going to have to see what it does over the next few starts. I'll be back in a couple days and let you know how it went. Thanks.
