    HELP ON BSOD....WIN 7 64(newbie)

I reinstalled my PC with Win 7 64 bit coz ive read that it has a better memory management, the installation went smoothly and everything was fine so I thought...but after installing the anti virus (mcafee total protection) I got my first BSOD....I checked for updates and installed Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x64-based Systems (KB954430), then I went on and no BSOD for a few hours, then got another one again. I then checked for a new update a installed another one: Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x64-based Systems (KB973688), its been like about 8 hours now and no BSOD, but Im afraid that something is wrong with this...attached herewith is the dump file....would really appreciate if somebody could help out and could tell what might be wrong with my system, oh, I have installed Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit with the same rig and no BSOD whatsoever....thank you very much....

Usual causes: Insufficient physical memory, Indexing, Device driver

since the first usual cause is insufficient memory, it would explain why it worked on 32bit but not 64. Since 32 bit uses less resources its less likely to happen
Indexing, you could even turn it off to test but I dont think it was the indexing
    device driver is likely
because of that I would run a system file check

type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow

    if you are overclocking stop

    let us know the results

Try this article How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

    Hope this helps,

According to CSBLog these are the two files that is corrupted that Windows failed to Repair.

    Code:
    NlsLexicons0002.dll, iassdo.dll.mui
I'm not sure whether just replacing them would fix it but it's worth a try.

    Attachment 55376

Search of these files and replace them because the Location might be different

    Hope this helps,
    Captain

hi there capt'n, Im not sure on how to go about this one? Do I replace the corrupted files with the ones that you have attached on your reply? Also about this "iassdo.dll.mui " file, I found 4 the same files on different locations:
    C:\Windows\Win32\en-US

    C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-n..ce_iassdo.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_en-us_448b1c3c529ce8ed

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\en-US

    C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-n..ce_iassdo.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_en-us_e86c80b89a3f77b7

which of these would I replace? Found the "NlsLexicons0002.dll" on this folder, C:\Windows\System32...what could have been the cause that this files were corrupted?was is due to the softwares that I have installed or on the win OS installer itself? thanks again....

How painful is it to simply completely remove your present anti-virus software (since that's when the problem started) and use Microsoft Security Essentials which is free and troublefree?
