    BSODs because motherboard is not supporting my RAMs


    to make long story short,

    I have a Gigabyte GA X58A-UD7 motherboard and OCZ3G1333LV2G RAM, and I found out that this type of RAM is not supported by the motherboard. All RAM types supported are listed here: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/FileList/...a-x58a-ud7.pdf


    my question is: is this enough reason to get BSODs?

    Good question.
    I have the x58 UD5 and the likely the same Ram. OCZ Low voltage (2GBx3=6GB)
    And I have multiple BSOD like, " APC_Index_Mismatch", "Page fault in nonpage area"

    and some weird msgs from mobo...

    I got a reply from an expert from another forum:

    Your memory is technically compatible with the motherboard, but not a good choice since you want to be running triple channel with the memory.
    Go into your BIOS and raise the memory voltage to 1.65V and it should clear up the BSOD's

    For now I just updated the Bios from F7 to F10 (says about memory fixes)
