    BSOD on boot up

    Hi,

    First time on the forum.

On startup pc screen goes into Windows Error Recovery screen. I have selected launch startup repair, I get a few seconds view of a dialoge box and then get a blue screen showing MEMORY MANAGEMENT report together with STOP:0x0000001A in technical information section. PC just hangs on that view.

I have pressed F8 on startup (Advanced Boot options) and tried
    Repair Your Computer
    Safe Mode
Safe mode with command prompt....result was message BAD_POOL_HEADER
    STOP 0xooooooC3.

Any help to sort this problem out would be gratefully recieved.

I am current using an old laptop to send this request for help.
    Thanks

We need the actual .dmp file for analysis.. Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

    For memory error messages,
Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 passes.

    BSOD update

    Hi Tews,

    Thanks for the earlier response.

loaded the memtest cd into pc and powered up but nothing different happened.

any ideas on why it would not boot from the cd ?

    Thanks

make sure that you have set your cd/dvd drive as the first boot device in your BIOS settings...

I have tried that, it no worky either.

on power up i have pressed the esc key and that takes me to a boot menu, not the bios page, from there i have selected CD rom, but it does not pick up the drive !!

I managed to run the windows memory test on the pc, and that confirmed a hardware problem, so I'm going to look at that.

    thanks again for you help

problem is i cannot get into the bios screen. Holding the tab key on power up gets me into a screen headed via tech vt8237 sta raid bios ver 2.20. on in there the key stokes on the legend do not work apart from the esc key to exit. I have tried every other F key as well trying to get into the bios.
