    need some help

    will someone help me escape my windows7 nightmare??

    6-8 months ago i had a working win2kpro machine. started noticin that i was runnin out of drivespace and also that alot of my software was becoming unsupported. it was time to upgrade. so at first i just installed a bigger hdd and filled up on ram. turns out win2k can't see a 1tb hdd... only about 132gb of it. so i checked the rest of my sys requirements for win7 and it said my comp was compatible.. so i purchased win7 ultimate. i did not realize that when it said "at least 128mb 3d graphics" that MY 128 mb 3d graphics did not count. or my sound. ohh.. win7 saw my hardware and my drivers, it just refused to use them. so i installed new "win7 compatible" sound and video cards. that solved that problem.

    btw.. my computer also had began crashing within 2 hours of OS install. i thought.. i did go from a 32 bit to a 64 bit OS... maybe my proc's gettin hot. and it was... about 8-10degrees hotter. so i installed a bigger sink n fan. that cooled it off but did not stop the crashing. i was also using a used 450W power supply that i had rebuilt probly 6months earlier. i didn't have time (or will) to test the p.s. any further so i bought a new 630W. did not help. tried to install on my old 40gb ide hdd and it crashed during install. i am now tryin the 32 bit version and it so far seems to be worse.

    have i reinstalled win7?? yes
    have i tried installing win7 on a different hdd?? yes
    do i have all the latest drivers?? yes
    have i tried system restore?? yes
    did i try the official win7 compatibilty testing software?? yes
    is this my first computer build?? no
    do i like to torture myself?? apperently so

    and still gettin blue screens.
    it also freezes.
    many, many messages sayin::
    internet explorer has stopped working
    desktop gadgets has stopped working
    windows explorer has stopped working
    etc...

    plz hlp.

    There's been one post today with a user doing scans and what not, to report back they opened up the case to check everything and they haven't had a problem since, so without trying to sound patronising, double check everything is seated and connected properly.
