Problem with a program causing 7 (64) to crash

Hi - I am trying to use bookmarking demon:

Social Bookmarking Software, Social Bookmarking Tool

It is reported as working on windows 7 64 which I am using but when I run it I always see a message saying that it has stopped working and then that windows is checking for a solution. This happens each time I try to load it.

I have tried all the options with running it under the vista/xp compatible modes with no luck at all.

I tired to do a system restore but I always get a message saying that something has caused system restore to file and suggests its a virus checker but I have shut everything down when trying to run it but I dont think a restore is an option. I have contacted the vendor who is looking into the problem but I dont have much hope as I am the only one who has created it.... Does anyone have any idea how I might fix this problem or what is causing it?

What does it say in event viewer (type eventvwr in search) go to the windows log>application tab. look for critical errors (they have red in the left column) that say app hang, app crash, etc. when y ou find them note the event ID and source code and let us know what they are

Thanks for the reply, its appreciated. I was a little worried that my thread might just die.

I am fairly competent with Windows but what I am doing here is a little beyond me so I am hoping that someone can once again lend a hand with this. I have had a remote session with the tech support of the program and they are saying that I would need to reinstall because dot net is corrupt and it was not placed in windows 7 in a way that makes it easy to fix.

I really hope I dont need to do that and would consider just not using the software rather than a reinstall as I have this system set up exactly as I need it and it would probably take me three days to get it back like this.

Follwing the steps I took a screenshot:

    http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/2811/errorfb.th.jpg

All of the red errors occur when trying to run this app and 2 errors happen each time, the first is:

.NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.4927 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (749B851A) (80131506)

    Source .net runtime
    Event ID 1023

    And the second is:

Faulting application name: EdwinSoft.BookmarkingDemon.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4b96b9bb
Faulting module name: mscorwks.dll, version: 2.0.50727.4927, time stamp: 0x4a275a68
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x0002bbb5
    Faulting process id: 0x%9
    Faulting application start time: 0x%10
    Faulting application path: %11
    Faulting module path: %12
    Report Id: %13

    Event ID 1000

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really hope that means something to someone here, I will try and check back later today but it most likely in the morning when I will be able to next check back.

    Thanks again

also, I have just run the dot net version checker and it says that .net is installed (I would expect this on windows 7!) but it also says that the ADO 2.6 check failed
