Windows 7 randomly crashs or hangs

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but found a few posts on crashs in Windows 7 so I'm hoping someone can help me too. My Windows 7 machine usually crashs or hangs when it is idle for a while. I lock the screen and return to my desk after 30 - 45 minutes the machine either rebooted because of a crash or it hangs and I have to reset it manually. This is pretty bad

Has someone an idea what could be the reason? Any help is very appreciated. Attached you will find the dump files of the last three crashes and the XML file containing system information.

I had a similar problem and your minidumps look very much like mine. Try to disable C1E support in BIOS. Its an energy saving feature that changes the voltage depending on how much is used right now. Maybe it works.

I found such a setting in the BIOS and disabled it. I'll monitor it now for the next couple of days and let you know if it solved my problem.

Unfortunately switching off this power saving option in the BIOS did not help. Today Windows 7 froze again and I had to reset the machine to reboot. Any other thoughts on this issue?

Asus are absolute swines - well known for over-volting so they can market/advertise their boards amongst the fastest!

Try setting your CPU and RAM settings to their correct speed, voltage, other settings manually (ie not on 'auto') in the Bios!

No harm in trying.
