MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Ariel,
I'm not a "gamer" but it sure looks to me like you have a 32-bit version of the program running on a 64-bit computer. Furthermore, sure looks like the program wasn't written for Windows 7.

Let's hope that some of the people with more experience in this world come in.

Are you trying to run it in compatibility mode...try xp service pack 3? that may help you out
p.s. also run as admin
p.s.s. try defraging your machine since you installed and uninstalled a few times...roll back your nvidia driver to an older one...sometimes your video card driver causes issues.

Please before you do any changes..write the original settings down so that you may refer to them for undoing any changes if the new settings don't work.

Open your Nvidia Control Panel..
go to Set PhysX Configuration. (change from enabled to disable)

then go to ...
Stereoscopic 3D...
view compatibility with games...
scroll down list until you reach EQ2
it will show you recommendations for the game.

I have also read that there are some issues with the new expansions in EQ2..I used to play it a lot..I had a lvl 72 warlock buffed out! I miss that game...It took up a lot of my time...lol

1) Check the temps with HWInfo32 - post them.

2) Run Memtest86+ for a couple of passes

3) Run the Short DST of Seagate Seatools.

4) Check that all parts are seated properly and dust free.

5) Its interesting that the motherboard isn't listed in the screenshots you provided.

6) Run chkdsk - ticking both boxes.

7) Install the latest DirectX Redist.

8) Post back.

MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Ariel,
I really think that all of your problems are caused by EQ2 but I could be wrong.

Now let's assume that I'm correct. How can we prove that I'm correct. Assuming that you've not followed any advice about rolling back drivers and so on so forth, then what you will want to do is to remove EQ2 from the computer.

If after removal, you still have problems then we will be able to run those down. But first, let's remove EQ2. AFter we get everything working, then running EQ2 in compatibility mode MAY be possible. The selection can always be made but sometimes the best laid plans of mice and men go astray.

How to remove your program:
WIN key | Control Panel | Programs and Features ( or simply Programs depending upon your selection for the Control Panel) | Uninstall a Program | locate the program you want to uninstall | Right-click on that program and choose Uninstall

Now reboot your computer and use it sans your favorite app and see if all is well.

Okay it seems like I only crash with eq2. I have spent better part of the last 2 hours playing Mahjong Tales and no problem.
I have it running in xp mode and as admin. Also what do you mean I have 32 bit and 64 bit running? Hubby installed 64 directly off of the windows 7 disk.

Ariel,
Excellent. Now set up EQ2 in the same manner as Majong Tales and let's hope for the best. If things don't work, then uninstall eq2 again. Make inquires at the EQ2 forum and see if they can recommend a version of their product and an install procedure for you. Be sure and tell them that you have the 64-bit version of Win7.
