pxe-e61 :media test failure, check cable???

What is this, i started to play a song in itunes before this happened and then the song just started skipping repeating the last note before the error. So i restarted my leader laptop and this error comes up on a black screen
for realtek RTL8110SC gigabit ethernet controller v1.55 (060328)
pxe-e61 : media test failure, check cable
    pxe - m0f : exiting pxe rom.

Reboot and select proper boot device
or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

I had this problem before but i was running vista to fix i just did a full system restore and i didnt lose any files. But i am now running windows 7 and i do not get an optionto restore or anything. I can't afford to lose my hard drive.

Please run System Repair from the Windows 7 installation disk: Startup Repair

If you've had this issue before, I'd have to wonder about the condition of your hard drive. Please run one of these free, bootable diagnostics: HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

What error message/what happens when you attempt to run Startup Repair from the installation disk?

Come sup with the windows 7 loading screen and then goes to a black screen with a mouse arrow on it. Anyways i have purchased an external hdd connector in which i can take my laptop hard drive out and plug the hdd into the connector gadget. This means i can connect my laptop harddrive to any computer via usb right??? But windows seven unsuccessfully installs the drivers?? and can't view any files on my laptop hdd, why is this. in my bios on my laptop the hdd is recognised and did not fail any tests

If you have the drive connected properly, then there shouldn't be any issues reading it on another computer.
Since you are having issues, I'd suspect that there's a problem with the hard drive.
