I have updated the drivers and run Malware and Avira and have not found any spyware or registry issues.

I have beginning to think this is a video card issue and have sent an email to HIS. When the computer is freezing up, whether gaming or simple Browsing, It is sometimes impossible to bring up things like Task Manager too. The Reliability monitor is not usually seeing a problem except for a few "Video hardware Errors"!

I am stumped? Anyone know if these cards are having issues. I have not altered it in any way, thanks
Mike

there are many things it can be. heat, video ram, hardware, etc.

First steo-- go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search).

Go to the window log>application tab

look for critical errors (they have red in the left hand column) that have app crash, app hang, etc in them.

When you find them note the event ID and source code and tell us what they are

let us know if you need help

I shut off the computer for a 1/2 hour and opened the case and ran the fan. I restarted the computer and began playing an online game and it seized up really badly after about 11 minutes (with the fan still on it). per Speedfan the core temp was 32C.

The game I was running at the time was LOTRO the high res version but this also happens with simple browsing

Is it the fan that is making the noise?

Out of curiosity, have you tried browsing with the "no addons" version of IE? If not, give that a try once. You can run it by navigating to All Programs>> Accessories>> System Tools>> Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons). If you don't have any problems with that version, then you most likely have an ActiveX issue, or your running a corrupted BHO (Browser Helper Object). Let us know if that helps.

Unfortunately that did not help either, still got freezes. I tried running games without IE8 in the background in a few days ago and it did niot work. The no Add-ons version did not work either. Even froze for about 10 seconds while browsing and 2 big freeze ups while running LOTRO

I don't know man, those graphical hiccups sound like symptoms from overheating. This video demonstrates the same principle, except on a CPU. This is what could be happening to your GPU.

Earlier it was suggested it might be overheating so I shut it off for 1/2 hour, Opened the cover, and put a personal fan on it. Ran it for 10 minutes and got a serious freezeup. I am using Speedfan and the Core was only 32C then. Is there a more effective way of Checking for Overheating???

It is possible I just got a bad graphics card or CPU? have an email into HIS but they have not got back to me yet

I would think it's a bad GPU more likely than a CPU. If you had a bad CPU, Windows would warn you and possibly BSOD all the time.
