    Just a guess

Could it be a problem with the software (needs an update?) that connects to the servers like "gamespy" or whichever one it is that comes with that game?
Maybe it is fighting with your USB/interfering in some way causing lags - hence the weird sounds.

Well odd thing is after taking my computer desk apart and cleaning everything there was and starting up my computer and searching on google i found a setting in the game itself that causes some people on the 64bit to crash i changed the setting and it seems to have fixed it for a while but the sound problem is still going on so i have just muted all in-game sound and run itunes for some music.

Guess that was not the fix, The game has crashed once again i just can not understand it! im close to wiping my computer and just re-installing everything or even going back windows XP. so far this is what i have done.

    Updated all drivers.
Let windows 7 install the sound drivers.
    Cleaned out the computer.

    Any ideas?
