    Graphics card related BSOD's

    Hey, so I just got my new stuff up, i7 930, x58 sli micro, 6gb corsair dominator ram and an ssd from intel.

    I already have this graphics card; GTX260 c216

    I havnt tested with other games at the moment, but I get the bluescreens when playing Battlefield Bad company 2, I can play for hours and then I suddenly get it. The Bsod message varies actually, sometimes its IRQL not less or equal, other times its pagefault in nonpaged area, or sometimes even "dx1mm.sys" error

    I know it's the graphics card because I had same problem on my previous build (yes I did format after installing new hardware), but I didnt bother to ask for help for it before now.

    When I used the nvidia driver 196.21, it the fps in the game was horrible. So right now I am using the beta driver 197.13 which works great except for the bluescreens (GOt bluescreens with the 196.21 aswell).

    Well.. anyways. Heres the minidump file

    Attachment 61998
    There was only one file in there!

    I am upgrading graphics card when the Fermi cards are out, but would be awesome to have this fixed :]

    Thanks in advance!

    This crash was caused by cng.sys. I would be extremely concerned as the only references I could find to it show it as a virus. I would run an in depth virus scan. After you have and nothing shows we can investigae any future bsod's

    Okay, I got the results now, it found 3 infections
    Two keygens for various things on my other storage harddrive, removed them

    and a registry thing;

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoActiveDesktopChange s (Hijack.DisplayProperties) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    Did you use their un-install app to remove all the remnants of this driver?
