aero crashing / monitor turning off

I just recently reformatted so no idea what this could be. randomly my screen will flash black and then come on again. when it does aero on the windows and task bar will not work and will be a light blue / gray. giving it about 5 min fixes the problem but the monitor will remain off unless i move the mouse or type something. i have it set to never sleep , hibernate ect so I have no idea what is causing this. have windows 7 home premium 32 bit have 2 monitors 1 tv and 1 monitor hooked up to an 8800 gt if you need anymore info let me know thanks.

    Hi -

The flashing of the screen is indicative that a "Live Kernel Event" - 0x117 - took place. 0x117 = Video TDR timeout detected; the video driver failed to respond in the alloted time - usually 30000ms (30 sec), but ultimately did recover.

Check the Windows 7 Action Center/ Problem Reports for additional information -
START | type view all | select "View all problem Reports"

Make sure your video drivers are updated.

Problem Event Name: PnPDriverNotFound Architecture: x86 Hardware Id: ACPI\ATK0110 OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 This was what I found. I checked on google and it seems that my motherboard drivers are out of date? Could this be what is causing the problem?
