    BSOD bccode 116

Hi I am having a BSOD on my newly assembled pc that I built. I have not been able to run the computer for more than half a day since I have built it. The crash is wierd since the computer will run at idle without to much problem (some times) but when I put some load or strain in the GPU it will crash and reboot to crash again and again and again. Like I said the crash is funny in that it will run for a period of time from cold start but when I get the initial crash it will reboot and crash almost imediately or in a couple of minutes. There is no particular thing that I'm doing on the system when it crashes the crashes are random. Let me give you a run down of the pc and what the error is and the minidumps. Also the computer temps are all normal to let you guys know.

    Windows 7 64 bit professional
    Asus P5N-D mobo
    Intel core 2 quad Q9400
    OCZ DDR2 800mhz 4gb
    Gigibyte geforce 9500 GT 1gb
Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 sound card
    Hauppauge Wintv-hvr 2250
apevia x-master case with 500 watt included psu

    The Error:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.48
    Locale ID: 1033
    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 116
    BCP1: FFFFFA800716A4E0
    BCP2: FFFFF88003DA1740
    BCP3: 0000000000000000
    BCP4: 0000000000000002
    OS Version: 6_1_7600
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 256_1

Please let me know if you need any futher information. I really want to fix this pc but I am thinking that the graphics card is bad and need to be returned for a new one but before I do that I would like to know for sure that that is the actual problem and not some programming conflict.

All of these crashes were caused by your dxgkrnl.sys (video driver) I would un-install it and download a fresh copy and install it.

Thanks for the reply zigzag. I have already tried unstalling and restalling the video driver several times I have also tried installing an older driver just to see if that may fix my crash problem. Do you by chance think that this problem could be a result of a faulty video card? That was the direction that I was leaning before getting on this forum and asking for help. Also even though this is being caused by the video driver could something else be making the video driver crash? What do you think that my best course of action should be? Should I return the card or keep hunting for a fix for the problem for a bit? Thanks a lot for your time and the help that you have given me.

OK I have tried everything to get my computer to stop getting BSOD. I reinstalled windows to see if that may fix the problem installed all the drivers except the tv tuner driver and got a BSOD right after the computer restarted from the sound card install this time the error was different. I got a BCCODE: e4 sorry I forgot to copy the error message in frustration. But I do have the minidump and I'll post it with this message. Please help me this is really anoying and thanks for your time.

    Hey there. Update this driver:

    Code:
     cmhdav cmhdav.sys Mon Oct 19 05:11:45 2009
for your C-Media Oxygen, Asus Xonar or similar.

It would also be good to update this:

    Code:
    ASACPI ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005
    by visiting here:

    http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...ntent=download

and downloading the Aisuite V1.05.32 for Windows XP /XP 64bit and Windows Vista /Vista 64bit Win7 32bit/64bitand installing. It's in the utilities section of downloads.
