Crashes/Freezing with BSOD in Games and Windows
I've been having a bunch of trouble with locking up and blue screens on a new PC I just built a week ago. Here are my specs:
AMD ATHLON II X3 435 AM3
ASUS M4A78LT-M LE AMD760G
4GB GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ
XFX RADEON 5770
500G CAVIAR BLUE WD SATA
CORSAIR 550VX 550W
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
It ran flawlessly for about a day, but then after showing some pictures on my TV over HDMI and then going into the menu to switch the display back to my monitor Windows froze up. Restarted, and then had like 1-2 hours where right after it got into Windows it would freeze or blue screen after 1-2 minutes, no matter what kind of activity I did (even froze once on the login screen).
I couldn't always catch what the message on the blue screen was, but one was "BAD_POOL_CALL" and the other was "Memory Management".
My drivers are all up to date, as far as I can tell, and the freezing has been happening both in games and out of them. But sometimes the system will go a long time with no blue screens/freezing, I'll play Torchlight or Dawn of War and then wham - BS or freeze.
I do have onboard video with my MB - could that be interfering with things? I also hear kind of a lot of audio "pops" which led me to think it could be sound related, but those drivers are the latest from ASUS's site (onboard sound).
I ran memtest86+ overnight and it did 7 passes with 0 errors. I thought it might be bad memory though because when I took 1 stick out I was able to play games for an hour and a half with no issues.
I attached two of the .dmp files in a zip. The rest must have gotten trashed through the many restarts and restores.
I'm pretty stumped, but I hope it's just a driver conflict and not bad hardware.
Any ideas?
