When starting Vidoes

Hi, ive tried searching for this, but couldnt find it anywhere. Or more didnt know how to specify the search well enough.

Ive recently installed a fresh Windows 7 32 bit onto my pc. (Amd 4200+, 4gb of ram, shouldnt be a problem) Install went fine and everything. I then started updating drivers for sound and video. No issues doing that either.

But when ever i try to watch a video using WMP or another type of player the screen goes into a fuzzy blue screen for about 10-15 seconds while the video is still playing then goes back to normal. And if i have it on playlist when another video starts it will just go black for another 10-15 seconds then go back to normal.

The same thing happens less frequently while just surfing the internet. Goes fuzzy blue then back to normal.

If anyone has any insight, or an idea of what is going wrong or how to fix it i would be very grateful. Hope thats enough information.

Cheers.

You can try using the player "Mplayer" in command line. Just search for it.

Blue screen whilst playing any video file. AVI, wmv, ect... [Archive] - Ubuntu Forums

It may be a hardware problem. I'd try using a different monitor, cable and video card.

I just tried a new moniter and cable and its still doing the same thing. I doubt its the video card. Currently have a 7900 GT and as i said i have the newest driver for it also. Any other suggestions that i could try?

Sounds like it might be a bad card. If you have onboard graphics, pull out your card and plug your monitor into that and see if you still get crashes.

It may also be a bad motherboard connection to the card. Is it pressed in all the way?

I pulled the card out, checked the connection. Turned the computer back on and during start up it did the fuzzy blue screen then went back to normal. Im really at a loss for what might be causing this and i really hope it isnt the video card.

Is it possible to try another video card? I still suspect it is a bad card.

Not all vidoes being added to library
So I added my Movies folder to WMP 12 but for some reason it's only showing 66 of the 75 movies in this folder. All 75 were encoded to MP4 using Handbrake on identical settings so there's no differences between the files. Any ideas why 9 of the files refuse to show? They play just fine in WMP 12 -...
