    BSOD: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL caused by ntoskrnl.exe

    Problem:
Upon running WhoCrashed Home Edition 2.10 it told me this:
On Wed 4/14/2010 11:42:45 PM your computer crashed
This was likely caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe
    Bugcheck code: 0xA (0x0, 0x2, 0x0, 0xFFFFF800031ED477)
    Error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    Dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\041410-19671-01.dmp
    file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
    product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
    company: Microsoft Corporation
    description: NT Kernel & System
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect, possibly the culprit is in another driver on your system which cannot be identified at this time.

    ------
I don't really get why this is happening. My Vaio used to crash every now and then when I first installed win7. When I reformatted my computer it started to crash more often. Now it crashes everyday. Sometimes even twice a day.

I talked to Sony and they told me to reset my BIOS. Link is here.

    That didn't help.

The crashing still happens at random. Most of the crashes used to happen when I was watching a video. Now it just happens for no reason.

    Programs Used:

    Browsers: Firefox, Chrome, IE
    AntiVirus: Microsoft Essentials, Malbyte's AntiMalware
    AntiSpyware: SpywearBlaster, SpyBot

    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Notebook History:

When i got my laptop it only ran Vista 32bit. At first I upgraded to Vista64bit and that ran fine. I've since upgraded it to Win7 64bit w/ help from here.

Sony never provided drivers beyond Vista 32bit for my system, but since it runs a Core2Duo i thought i'd take the initiative and enhance my productivity.

I also get my laptop video driver from laptopvideo2go since there was no other place to find stable nvidia drivers.

Another thing I do with my notebook is connect an external monitor to it. I don't know if that helps. It's a generic monitor i got from newegg a few years back.

    Please help?
If you need anything else, please ask.

I've tried a few things to alleviate the problem.
I've uninstalled, fences(visual program for making the desktop disappear), and I've installed a more current graphics driver. That was a bad idea since my screen started glitching. So then I opted to just remove the graphics driver and see if that would solve my issues.

I left it on over night and it still crashed. Actually, while i slept it crashed 5 more times. Talk about a major nightmare.

I don't know if it will make a difference but I removed the battery and I'm just leaving it plugged into the AC chord.

    What else can I do?

    edit:
    removed Daemon Tools

    Hey.

    Your problem is netw5v64.sys.

That driver needs to be updated. If you're already running the latest, try older versions. Only other choice would be to notify the maker in hopes of a new fixed driver.

Since it's a network driver, it can't hurt to fully uninstall any 3rd party firewalls for the time being.
