    A quick glance suggests your audio driver is the problem. I suggest updating it, or uninstalling it and see what happens.

    I've uninstalled it and then re-installed it, and made sure it was up to date.

    Hi -

    Run --> DRIVER VERIFIER - Windows 7 & Vista

    Allow it to run for 24 hours minimum. You can use the system as usual while D/V is running.

    Regards. . .

    Black screen after sleep

    Hello all,

    I believe all my drivers problems are fixed, but there is this problem I can't get rid of. Occasionally after resuming from sleep, a screen comes up that is the color black, and I can't do anything. No keyboard commands work, no amount of mouse clicks fully resume windows. The problem is that this screen doesn't eventually turn into a BSOD, it just stays there. Pressing the restart button on my case does nothing. The computer restarts, and a screen comes up that says resuming windows, and back again to the black, yet lit up screen. The only solution I've found is completely shutting down the computer, and leaving it alone for more than 5 mins so it starts windows again, without trying to resume it. Ideas?

    Yeah, my problem is basically that. He said he solved it by leaving it off for an entire day. I guess I could try that, but that isn't such a definitive answer as I was looking for.

    I've downloaded it, now let's see if it's what will fix it.

    Hi Cannibal,

    Did Captain's hotfix solve your issue? Let us know either way and we'll be glad to continue helping if not.

    It seems to have fixed the issue. I've been letting it go into sleep mode and resuming with no problems as of yet. Truth be told, I couldn't exactly trigger that issue every time I resumed from sleep mode, and since I don't know exactly what was causing it (save for multi-core, as the hotfix stated) and didn't know how to make it happen, it's a waiting game right now.
