Lots of sudden BSoD - minidumps avail

Having random bsods every day, as well as other problems.

(this is the 3rd time I have to type this message out, so forgive the lack of info, I want to get this out)

    EDIT:

They are all over the place, but the mean comes from ntfs.sys and ntoskrnl.exe. This is a relatively new install on a new hard drive. PC *is* the one in my profile.

Sometimes I'm 20, 30 minutes into a video when computer BSoD reboots. Thank God for mini dumps, as these blue screens are only on the screen for a nanosecond.

Sometimes It's not doing a darn thing, no active apps are running (only KIS & Skype) and it will BS/Reboot every 2 to 8 hours.

Sometimes I'm in the process of downloading a large file (firefox), or unrar'ing, or searching google, or working on Photoshop.

I've lost countless hours of time in the past 2 weeks, I need some guidance. Thanks!

    EDIT: Problem is Fixed

I got new RAM and after a week, ZERO bsods, and zero anomalies

You are getting an access violation. What firewall are you using? Try uninstalling. See highlighted in dump.

Where did you get your OS. I haven't seen that build 16539 before.

If you see NtfsExceptionFilter on the stack then the 2nd and 3rd
parameters are the exception record and context record. Do a .cxr
on the 3rd parameter and then kb to obtain a more informative stack
        trace.

You are getting an access violation. What firewall are you using? Try uninstalling. See highlighted in dump.

Where did you get your OS. I haven't seen that build 16539 before.
I am using KIS 2010. I will uninstall and use Avast for a while to see if that's the problem, or one of them.

I got my OS from DigitalRIVER ISO download, RTM. They don't have it available for download anymore.

I got several errors when I checked my RAM (7 passes on MT86), I had both sticks of 2GB in there, now I hear I should have tested just one.

Your os build has the .gdr tag (general distibution revision). I have seen several builds with that tag. Most have the rtm (release to manufacturing).

If you are getting errors with both sticks in the slots then you have to isolate the problem to one or both sticks and/or one or both slots.

Run the test on one stick at a time in alternating slots.

Also make sure the bios is detecting the correct timings and voltages with CPU-Z.

    memtest86

    I have 4 slots (2 pairs), and 2 sticks.

    Stick 1:

    Slot A1 - ran for 1:16 (1 min 16 sec) then got Unexpected Interrupt - Halting w/5 erros @ DDR1066
    Slot A2 - ran for 3:03 same halting w/58 errors @ DDR1066
    Slot B1 - ran for 1:33 same halting w/3 errors @ DDR800
    Slot B2 - ran for 1:06 froze w/no errors @ DDR711

    again on Slot B2 - ran for 0:53 w/5 errors @ DDR711

    Stick 2:

    Slot A1 - 1:31 Halt w/5 erros @DDR1066
Slot A2 - 7:52 time frozen, yet errors counting exponentially. 1,000,000+ - it could be the same address, counted multiple times since the wall clock froze? I stopped it at 1 million errors. @ DDR1066
    Slot B1 - froze at 4:09 no errors @ DDR1066
    Slot B1 again - froze @ 2:49 no errors
    Slot B2 - Halt at 2:08 w/4 errors

Next post I'll show BOTH sticks in different combination slots.

    Okay, S1 = stick 1, S2 = stick 2
The slots are A1 A2 B1 B2 in that order
    Code:
    test 1 | -- -- S1 S2
    test 2 | -- S1 -- S2
    test 3 | S1 -- -- S2
    test 4 | S1 -- S2 --
    test 5 | S1 S2 -- --
    test 6 | S2 S1 -- --
    test 7 | S2 -- S1 --
    test 8 | -- -- S2 S1
    RESULTS

Test 1: "Halted" (unexpected interrupt) at 1:12 w/ 7 errors
Test 2: didn't POST (tried twice)
Test 3: Froze at 1:27, lots of diamond characters in all columns in lower screen
    Test 4: Froze at 0:29, 1 error
    Test 5: Halted at 3:56, 29 errors
Test 6: Froze at 12:01, when the 1 error showed up
    Test 7: Halted at 1:56, 2 errors
Test 8: Froze at 6:39, 1 million errors and counting - I aborted

I'm sofa king fed up, just gonna get new ram.

Just want to make sure I'm on the right track.

I put in some old ddr2|667mhz & 333mhz ram, memtest86 showed no errors with full 1 pass, each, on slot 1 by them selves. 2 @ half gig 333, 1 @ full gig 667 (reduced to 333 ddr1).

So right now I am running on these 3 sticks, 2 gigs of ram, no blue screens so far in 4 hours, and no other anomalies. *crosses fingers*

Okay, just wanted to update the thread.

    EVERYTHING IS OKAY.

I got new RAM a week ago, and all the blue screens have stopped, all other crashes have stopped as well. Thanks for lending me your ear, Nickle
