    sfc /scannow

    Hi

sfc /scannow won't work and keeps coming up saying that another system repair is scheduled upon reboot.

Only problem is i reboot and get the error that i have a corrupt system registry so it wont run what is scheduled. I need sfc /scannow to fix my problem.

Any ideas of how to get around it?

    thanks

If you have your registry backed up you can retore it then try running sfc/scannow after that. You could also try a system restore to a time before the registry was corrupted. Both methods are covered in the tutorial below.

sfc /scannow will not fix a corrupted registry. Your first priority is to get the registry fixed. The only way to do that is through a clean install.

    Edit:
I saw your other post. No backup or restore available.

    Sorry chev65.

Unless you can read minds or know whats going on inside the Op's machine, you would have no way of knowing that there are no sytem restore points or registry backup files available because he never mentioned that. When ever you run the reg cleaner with CCleaner or if you run spybot it creates a back up of the registry in the My Documents folder. Most people forget the registry back up is stored there.

I figure it's worth a try if there are any back ups available.

That is not a backup of the registry. It is a restore file so you can reverse the changes that were made by the registry cleaner. I take it you are not familiar with a .reg file.

Here is the link to his other post where he states he has no backup: https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...-problems.html

I was apologizing for posting at the same time as you.
