Windows 7: winxlh32.rom Error

winxlh32.rom Error

I am using Win7 32bit, and for some reason I am getting this error on login.
(Picture of error shown below in file)

Looking up the file on Google shows no result of anything, including that the file is even spoken about online.

Because of the slowing by the PC, I feel that this program has to do with allocating RAM, making the PC slower than I have ever seen, but that is just a guess.

Yahoo answers brought me to the conclusion that doing a "System Restore" would fix the issue, as it came up 2 days ago on a whim.

Any help would be appreciated.

here is what I would do. I would use msconfig (type msconfig in search), set it for diagnostic start up, and reboot. If the pop up is gone you know it is not a basic service that is causing it.

You can then put it back to normal and remove one start up item at a time until you find the one the is the problem. If you know what the item is and you dont need it you can then disable it.

Alright, so I went through MSCONFIG and disabled the worthless stuff (Adobe, Skype etc.) and now am having questions with the necessity of this winxlh32.rom file.

I found the specific file and disabled it, stopping the pop-up. It might have stopped the pop-up, but it also shows that is it connected to rundll32.exe

I am under the impression that rundll32.exe is a necessary process, so shouldn't the function be enabled?

MSSMSGS is the name of said process. And the command says:
Quote:
rundll32.exe winxlh32.rom,ojzfesab
Most things listed under the "Command" description have to do with location of said file, so its logical to think that this should be the location of the file, but I get the description I wrote above.

But there is no longer a problem with the pop-up, so I thank you. I will run a few more things to see if the PC is running faster, but as of now I see no change. Under task manager it says that I am using less RAM than normal.. 1.2GB instead of my usual constant of 1.4GB. (If that information is helpful)
