This happens once every few days, typically when I go to either mute or "un-mute" either via the bottom of the screen taskbar or the taskbar at the top of my keyboard.

Everything in the taskbar, including the Start menu becomes unresponsive. Sometimes after choosing to "restart" Windows Explorer, it works. Other times, I have to restart the computer.

    Any ideas?

Strange thing is that this error occurred both in Vista 64-bit and now with Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris
Hello Chris !! Welcome to SF !!

Is it an upgrade from Vista ?? Go to Start > Event Veiwer > Windows Log > Application and check for Error and post the descrption here. Follow this Tutorial and make sure DEP settings is set to Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only. DEP - Turn On or Off for Programs - Vista Forums . Hello !!

I guess it might be a bad User Profile. Create a new Windows User Profile then Test it under that account and see if that works. Also always upgrade creates lot of problems always its best to do a clean install. But lets do this first and see if that works.

    Hope this helps,

You can stop the Bonjour Service from loading when windows does from MSCONFIG. Bonjour service when looking for it seems to point to itunes so if you have this then probably reinstall using the latest version. As for the SynTPEnh.exe error, update the touchpad S/W from Here. See if they help the touchpad driver errors.

The Realtek drivers you can update from Here. They might take a while to download as Realtek FTP site is quite slow. Do you know the full model number for your machine? The dv6700dis the series not the model!

    Hope this helps!!:)
