Start Menu Issues have you seen this??

Ok, Here is the problem, Windows 7 Ultimate, I click Start, all programs, and right click an app to create a shortcut (send to desktop) option, but before I can click "Send to desktop" the start menu disappears... every time! This makes it impossible to create a shortcut this way. I unplugged the keyboard, thinking it had something to do with it, try it again, same thing. Has anyone seen this?? Something else here, when I open up My Computer, and leave it open, the start menu then allows me to create a shortcut without disappearing. I close the my computer window, and its back to its old ways.

A good starting point would be to open the DOS command window as the administrator and type
    sfc /scannow
This will check all appropriate files in Win7. After a few minutes it should tell you that all files are good and couldn't find any problem or that it needs to correct something
Let us know what it says.

Tried it on the problem machine, no problems found. Ran it on my main PC and it repaired a bunch stuff, never knew about this command, thanks!

It is a nice command that just does a check to see if Windows has all the needed programs and verified they are correct. If not it copies them from the original install.

    Glad things worked out.
    Thanks for the Reps.
