FWIW - if the dump file blames the video driver, but you're sure that the driver is working properly - then the most likely issue is a hardware problem (most likely with your video card).

Try this free video stress test:
Try this free video stress test: FurMark: Graphics Card Stability and Stress Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
    FurMark Setup:
    - If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
    - In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test
    - Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
    - Click "Quit" to exit
The first step for fixing this (if it's a driver) is to ensure that the drivers are either updated or removed.
Here's the outdated drivers from the latest memory dump:
    Code:
    AGRSM.sys Mon Nov 10 09:56:37 2008 - TOSHIBA V92 Software Modem/Agere Systems Soft/Creatix V.92 Data Fax Modem - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#AGRSM.sys
    FwLnk.sys Sun Nov 19 09:11:12 2006 - Toshiba Firmware Linkage service system driver - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#FwLnk.sys
    SynTP.sys Thu Aug 14 22:02:22 2008 - Synaptic Touch Pad Driver - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#SynTP.sys
    Summary of the BSOD:

    Updated the Synaptics Touchpad driver.

The software modem doesn't seem to have a download available; SV92U2 : PC Modems : Modem Chip Sets : Networking Products : Networking : LSI

The Toshiba Support page only has a version of the modem driver for 64 it systems. I am also unable to find the FwLink.sys in a newer version. The page linked to by the ...#FwLnk.sys page is not a valid address and Google has proved fruitless.

The FWLnk.sys driver is contained in the Toshiba Value Added Package for Windows Vista/7 (32)(v1.2.33; 11-09-2009; 43.67M) Unfortunately, it's dated 11/19/2006 - so there's no point in installing it.
I'd suggest removing the "Value Added Package" (if possible) to see if that helps things - if not, then you can always reinstall it.

The AGRSM.sys driver may be available at another manufacturer's website. To find out more, please go the device in Device Manager and right click on it.
    Select "Properties"
    Then select the Details tab
Then select Hardware ID in the dropdown box.
Let us know the 4 characters immediately after the VEN_ and the 4 characters immediately after the DEV_
We'll look up the exact specs at PCI Vendor and Device Lists and then will see if we can find drivers at one of the other manufacturer's websites.

In the meantime, please disable the device and uninstall it's software through Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program.

All in all, I'm not really concerned over these drivers - but having them out of the way will reduce the stuff that we've got to worry about.

I got a page_fault_in_nonpaged_area after installing 64 bit Windows and using driver verifier after I had another BSoD on wake so I'm thinking it might be a hardware issue. What are some good memtest utilities?

Here's a bunch of hardware tests (all are free):
    H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)

    *****
Additional tests for certain specific circumstances:
Try this free video stress test: FurMark: Graphics Card Stability and Stress Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
    FurMark Setup:
    - If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
    - In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test
    - Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
    - Click "Quit" to exit
Try this free stress test: Free Software - GIMPS
    Prime95 Setup:
    - extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
    - double click on the executable file
    - select "Just stress testing"
    - select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
    - "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

Bah hardware diagnostics report nothing unusual and I've tried removing the dated drivers altogether with no success. I appreciate the help but I'm going back to Linux, Vista or Windows XP for now.

    Same issue.

This makes me sad to see that there is no solution for this problem. My wife has this exact same laptop, and I upgraded it from Vista to Windows 7 32-bit. Her laptop now crashes when coming out of hibernate or sleep without fail. I don't have any screenshots of the BSoD though. She also tells me that sometimes when it crashes that the laptop will display a bunch of white lines and then BSoD.

Could it be that the motherboard is not compatible with Windows 7? I suppose I'll just install XP Pro, because I really can't stand Vista.

I've removed just about every driver I could think of, run all the diagnostics and have reinstalled Windows 7 at least three times with no success. Maybe when SP2 comes out we'll have better luck but until then, you're better off downgrading. I wouldn't imagine it to be the motherboard or the firmware (updated that too with no success) but I could easily be wrong.

I don't want to use Vista either but I'm trying to keep my OS relatively modern. I'll at least reskin it to make myself feel better.

I got a page_fault_in_nonpaged_area after installing 64 bit Windows and using driver verifier
If the Page Fault in a NonPaged Area error occurred while running Driver Verifier, please check this KB article: Error message during stress tests on a computer that is running Windows 7 if Driver Verifier is enabled: "Stop 0x00000050"

All important updates were installed and I alternated several driver configurations and three re-installations of x86 and 64-bit. I am done fooling around with this and am in the process of setting up Vista.
