Will that disable my wireless mouse, keyboard, and the remote to media center?

It might disable the remote to Media Center, but I suspect the keyboard and mouse will not be touched.

It may be a good idea to create a restore point first.

I just noticed something strange. I have a projector/tv receiver hooked up next to my computer. If I use their remotes, the remote light on the computer also lights up. Could there be a signal conflict (if such a thing exists?) I rarely have the projector on, except at night, and that is normally around the time the computer blue screens.

I know I'm just reaching here, but...since you brought up the infrared thing, I figured it was worth taking note of.

It could be, yes. Good observation. :)

    IR Remote Causing BSOD

I have a new HP 600Q and was having several BSOD's a day. I finally noticed I would get the BSOD's when I was tuning my DISH network Receiver. I could not disable the IR (Buttons Grayed out) but a piece of Black Electrical tape over the IR works great.

You could disable the "infrared monitor service" by right clicking on it, selecting properties, stopping it and setting it to disable

I do not seem to have that option. I do not have an Icon in the Taskbar or Quick Launch.
