Also, how long has this been going on? Where did you get your copy of Windows 7?

- I will try CCleaner, I have it installed because I use it, so no problem there.
- This has been going on for only a couple days.
- FutureShop. I bought it because I wanted ultimate, and it was 50% off with the purchase of my computer.
Jonathan King suggested using Ccleaner to clean temporary files. You used the registry cleaner portion. Most of us here do not recommend using the registry cleaner unless you are an expert with the registry. These can bite you you really hard now and even down the road.

By default Ccleaner backs up the registry before it deletes keys. I recommend that you restore the registry through Ccleaner. Then use Cleaner to delete temporary files. Don't wory about the registry; it will take care of itself. Win 7 manages the registry very well. You want to use the Cleaner portion.

- Oh...kkk I did the cleaner part first, then registry. Hmm...I did not backup anything...I really hope someone can fix my problem soon... ( I know it is bad to use registry cleaners, but ccleaner does not seem to impact anything, so I use its registry cleaner anyways...Actually what is worse than using a registry clean is tune up utilities to 'optimize' your computer...It fryed my motherboard, and gave me a blue screen every time I booted up my computer, 'optimizing' it, and it took 30 mins to do. Then it would boot up regularly, but it was annoying, and wrecked my motherboard...)
-Doesn't anyone have a solution for this? =( I would really like to install new programs...

Since a repair install did not work( and no one knows how to fix this apparently, and no one really wants to help on this...), I did a complete clean install and formatted my hardrive , this worked, but it is not the solution to this problem...( I wanted to fix it without going as so far as to formatting my hardrive...)
I can now install things !!! =P W00T!!!
-I hope someone finds a solution to this problem though for someone else who has this problem...( I don't think they would want to delete everything off of their hardrive and re-install windows either...)

Now... save yourself a lot of grief and make an image of your system drive in case something like this happens again....

So...is it almost the same as what I did? I used the windows 7 ultimate upgrade cd to format my hardrive and then re-install windows...
Hmm...next step is to upgrade my windows ultimate to windows ultimate ( sounds weird yes, but my product key only works for an upgraded windows ultimate, not a clean installed one ...)
- What is better 32 bit windows or 64 bit windows...I have no clue of the difference ( my processor seems to be slower with 32 bits on my windows...(instead of having 64 bits...)why is that...)
Is there any program out there that will let me run 32 bit programs on 64 bits..? My anti-spyware program spyware terminator's real time shield only works on 32bit windows at the moment ( and they don't seem to be changing that any time soon...)

You can run 32 bit programs on a 64 bit system; but not vice versa.

YES, I do know this =P But, spyware terminator's real time shield does not work on 64bits windows ( only 32bits) is there a program that can make it so that it can work just fine on my 64bits windows ( or something..?)

Having some grief with WMP 12: plays fine for a while, but after the 4th track it stops responding and then hangs the entire system. Hitting the reset switch only takes me as far the BIOS, which I couldn't understand until I looked at the SATA list and noticed that my primary drive was missing!...

Can't uninstall Opera 9.64 - or repair or reinstall
