BSOD once a week

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. The last hardware and driver I installed was my graphics card ASUS EN9800GT with driver: 8.17.11.9713 which I downloaded from the Nvidia web site.

When I first bought the MB I flashed the BIOS to the latest available ver. 2204 I did a clean install reformatting the hard drive. I then installed all the Win 7 (32bit) drivers available from the ASUS web site (Except for the RAID drivers which I won't use anyway) then I installed the graphics driver.

I contacted ASUS support and they said BSOD screens usually occur with memory issues. They asked me to run a memory diagnostic test (Which I did x2 and it checked out fine using Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and Memtest86 v. 4.10) They also told me that if the memory test was OK that I could RMA my motherboard.

It doesn't make sense to me to RMA the motherboard if the problem turns out to be a driver problem??

This is what I found in the event viewer:

There were several critical events about 5 or 6 and one of them appeared the same time as the BSOD appeared yesterday. All the critical events are exactly the same.

This info above was exactly the same for all of the critical events that appeared.

I tried what you said and I still can not compress/archive the file.

Why does windows make it so easy to get access to this file but unable to open it?? I keep getting access denied and I am the Administrator.

This is rapidly becomming a real drag. It's not that I don't appreciates everyones help, but I am going to RMA the motherboard. The memory checks out fine.

You would be more successful in fixing your problem if you were a bit more patient. In you first post you said you didnt wwant to rma the mobo, in this one you do. You said the ram checks out, in what app for how long.

I wish I could be more patient but the BSOD has been appearing at least once a week for 2 months now. Maybe I should have asked this forum for help sooner but I have been on another forum and doing searches and asking friends for help almost daily. I am very frustrated because a wealth of people are really trying to help me but nothing seems to be working. I am at my wits end. If I RMA the MB I can let Asus check it out. It is covered under warranty. If they give it a clean bill of health then I will RMA the memory which is also under warranty. I really feel I need to try some thing more definitive. If they both check out fine then I will do a clean install of Windows reformatting the hard drive and putting all the Win 7 drivers (Updated where available) back on then the Nvidia Win 7 graphics driver from the Nvidia web site.

I really wish I could have opened up that .dmp file and archived it so I could let you see it but I can't get it open.

I really don't know what else to say except thank You.
