    help....problem event name blue screen


    hey all,

    i bought my laptop in December(Acer aspire 5738), never had a problem with it until today. While playing a video all of a sudden a blue screen appears, but before i can read anything it disappears and the computer restarts. After restarting, this is what i get,

    easy one these were caused by your network driver NETw5s64.sys. You need to download a fresh copy and install it.

    but i am going to need a bigger favor from you
    i am a computer illiterate, so i have no idea what a network driver is and how to update it
    so could you please guide me step by step as to what i should do

    Go here and select your model: Service & Support

    Then download the latest LAN and Wireless drivers.

    You can also go to Device Management (type devmgmt.msc into the start menu), right-click on your card, and select Update Driver Software.

    could you please guide me how do i update the driver, after unzipping the downloaded file, there are two folders one s32 other s64, in the s64 folder are the following
    dpinst64(application)
    iProDifX.dll
    iProDifX(application)
    NETw5v64
    NETw5v64
    NETw5v64.sys

    could you please tell me wht the heck am i supposed to do, the blue screen thingy stopped for almost 2 days, but happened again tonight

    From the looks of it I suspect the dlinst64 is the installer. Try double clicking on it.

    Let us know if that isnt it.

    i tried, it says i do not have sufficient security privileges to install hardware on this computer, contact your site admin, but i dont get it, this is my lappy, i am the only user doesnt tht make me the admin
