Windows 7: Crashing 9f DriverPowerStateFailure

Crashing 9f DriverPowerStateFailure

This is a Hibernation issue on my PVR-machine.

I have had the following issue more or less since I made a fresh W7 install of my PVR.

Using BlueScreenView, I can see that it is a DriverPowerStateFailure, but it never states what driver it is, only that the halmacpi.dll and ntoskrnl.exe are marked with red and has an address in "Address in stack" for the registered crashes.

It does not always generate a dmp-file, sometimes it's simply stuck. Usually it is turned off without the ability to wake from keypress, it needs to be turned on at the power button. In these cases, I always get a "recovered from a serious error". Sometimes it is stuck in a power-on state but unresponsive and with black screen.

However, sometimes it simply hibernating and resuming without any problems.

I sometimes run with only a few and maybe up to 10-20 GB disk free on a 500GB disk.

Besides what is registered in My Specs in my profile, the PC is equipped with a Hauppauge PVR-500 and a Terratec Cinergy 2400 i DT. I have removed a FloppyDTV with no change ion system behaviour.

Any help or input is greatly appreciated.

In the attached dumps, I have removed some of the dumps for size - they are all alike (except for 2 specific crashes for other reasons).

Thank you in advance.

Windows 7 Ultimate - 64-bit | Windows 8 Pro - 64-bit

Hello !! Welcome to SF !!

I believe the issue is with WinTV PVR PCI II (v2) WDM Video Capture. Remove that drivers and reinstall it. If that didn't fix it then go to C:\Windows\Driver and rename hcwpp2.sys to hcwpp2.old the reboot once and see if that fixes it. And the other thing is that there are lot of old-drivers that can cause this problem. SO i would recommend to update them first.

I would recommend to Run Hard Drive Diagnostic and Memory Diagnostic
