Random BSoDs

Recently upgraded from XPx64 to Win7 because Adobe decided to cut support for XP in After Effects and Premiere.
XP worked great, used it for about a year and no BSoDs.

Win 7 however gives me random BSoDs. I have tried to reinstall and changing SATA operation from AHCI to ATA in BIOS but still no solution.

I have attached a .dmp file and would be grateful if someone can take a look at it.

Right now I am going through the device manager to see if I can get my hands on more recent drivers. Hopefully its a driver issue and not faulty hardware.

The memory dump blames your Intel wireless network driver - netw5v64.sys
Please visit the Intel download center ( http://downloadcenter.intel.com ) and download the latest Win7 driver for your wifi card.
Then uninstall the current drivers
Then install the freshly downloaded drivers and monitor for further BSOD's.

Also update your Broadcom NDIS wired driver - b44amd64.sys (it's from 2006)

Did what u said. Also updated Soundcard and BIOS.

About the NDIS driver, Is that the "Broacom 440x 100/10 Integrated"? Can't find a windows 7 driver on the manufacturers homepage. There is a Vista x64 one though. Would it be safe to use that one?

Yes, just remember to install it in Vista Compatibility Mode...

Just had another crash...

The memory dump points to the wireless adapter again.

The latest wireless adapter drivers from the Intel Download Center are dated 13 Jan 2010
The drivers installed on your system are dated 15 Sep 2009
Please follow my advice and download the drivers from the Intel Download Center - NOT from Dell.

Your device is probably an Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN (you can find that information in Device Manager)

Ok, weird cause the driver i downloaded was surely from Intel Download Center.

But you are correct, there was a newer one in the link you posted. I have a Intel Wireless WiFi Link 3945ABG. The driver installed fine and I will monitor further.

There are quite a lot of options for the wireless device under the advanced tab. Do you think that there are functions that are incompatible with Win7?

No, not if you downloaded the drivers for Win7. Intel is pretty reliable about testing their drivers.

The computer seems more stable now.

Another question arise. Is it worth to reinstall Win7 with AHCI mode and Flash Cache Module enabled? I disabled the two last time I reinstalled in order to troubleshoot the bluescreens. I have heard that u need to reinstall the OS if u want to change those settings.

What are the advantages of enabling those features?
