Not being familiar with that particular software, I will give you a general answer. Anthing that accurately measures temperature that you are happy with is fine.

However kens recommendation has a proven track record. The decision is yours.

Thanks Rich

Speed fan would work. The only important thing is the trend over time

Alrighty, I'm running Speedfan and monitoring it. I have two monitors, so I should be able to glance over every once and awhile.

By the way, I have to know since it's driving me crazy. Is it a joke that your OS says "7600x32 Win 8-128 bit"? I wasn't even aware they had a working version yet.

Strangely enough, it hasn't crashed in the last day. I'm still monitoring temperatures though and I'll post back when it crashes again.

I'm also guessing that I wont get a reply to my previous question

Well, it hasn't crashed in almost 3 days.

I've been doing some experimenting with programs, from removing everything from startup to running different combinations of programs. I think I've narrowed it down to one program.

If you google TrinityCore you'll know what it is. Anyway, I know this application can be RAM-intensive but I didn't think it would be so much that it would freeze the computer. The reason I believe this is because I used to run this on my old computer which had half the RAM my current one does with no problems what-so-ever. But on this computer (with twice the RAM) it seems to lock up my computer.

Is it possible (likely?) that an application can use up all of the RAM and lock up the system? Also why does this happen on my newer computer with twice the RAM, but not my older one?

It it possibly not a RAM issue?

Thanks for your help so far.
