The person on the phone then talked to the HR department and now I was a new system coming in the mail. I spoke with the dell associate on the phone and he apologized for the inconvience and said something about getting some free upgrades (unfortunately his accent was very strong and I did not understand what he said after that.) So that's the story now. I'm getting a new system now. Hopefully this one will work properly. Thanks for the help guys.

Stay on top of it ktyure and thanks for bringing us up to speed.

Most likely it was a hardware problem but unless you replace each piece with another it's hard to say exactly which piece of hardware was the culprit. Because he changed out the mobo and memory which had no effect I would be inclined to believe the power supply was the original cause of the problem.
