Recovering from a virus or worm

Ok so I think I may have had a zombie computer virus or worm or something, more info on that here I Think I May Have A Worm or Virus and I had to do a custom install to get my computer back to normal, but when I did the custom install I didn't format my hard drive cuz there was still stuff on it I wanted to keep. Anyways the virus I had or whatever started out as ICMP flooding and got worse. I had done numerous anti virus scans and anti malware scans and stuff like that and it didn't fix the problem. It got worse each time I rebooted my computer, to where it eventually my computer would blue screen of death right before the login screen on the starting windows logo every time I would start my computer. And since I didn't format my hard drive during the custom install it could be I might still have something bad on it which all the scans I did couldn't fix, and I'm afraid something will happen if I connect that computer to the internet again. What should I do now?

Also right after I did the custom install and it went into Windows 7 for the first time on that install. I got this message

Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown
