Windows 7 64bit crashes when gaming, seemingly to ATI's drivers fault
Hi to all! I'm desperated, have searched through thousand of forums with similar problems but haven't been able to find an answer.
I bought a new computer with this specs:
- CORE: i7 2'67GHz
- RAM: 12GB DDR3
- VIDEO: ATI RADEON HD 5970
- MB: ASUS RAMPAGE 3 EXTREME
And, after hesitating about its possible incompatibilities with some software, i decided to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Installed all drivers, everything seems to work smooth. ATI drivers were downloaded first from their website so i have the newest ones.
I installed my COD Modern Warfare 2 game (and after this, last version of DirectX) to try my new machine and oops. Game loads ok, mission starts ok (so i get to play it for a few seconds) but then all of a suddend the screen goes black and lots of vertical lines appear. It keeps frozen like that for like 10 seconds and then reboot.
Here is the dump i found:

[a lot more of "symbols are wrong" although i have tried to fix this as well with no luck...]
Probably caused by : atikmdag.sys ( atikmdag!TV_setTVregs+147d )
Followup: MachineOwner

I guess atikmdag.sys is the source of my personal nightmare ... What can i do?
Please help!
